Service For The Lord’s Day

Pentecost Sunday

May 11, 2008                                                                                                                   10:30 A.M.

The Prelude begins our time of preparation for worship, and is honored by our sitting quietly,

allowing worshipers a time to clear our minds and spirits to reflect and meditate on God’s Word.

Prelude No. I                                   Come, Holy Ghost                                                                                   G.P. Teleman

Prayer of Confession (Unison)

God of Wind and Fire, our choices have denied you. We drink from the shallow waters of instant gratification when you offer springs of living water from the depths of your love. We pursue our own fame and glory, which crumble into dust when we view the sacrifice and service that build true character. O God, we confess that we have not put first things first. We have not lived up to the crown of glory and honor you offer us. Recall us to awe and wonder and guide us in the ways of truth. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.

(Silent time for your reflection and personal confessions)
