THE SESSION
The Session is composed of church members, nominated and elected by the Congregation, each serving for a three-year term. A Session member is ordained as an Elder at the time of election, or may serve, having previously been ordained either by Hope or by another Presbyterian church.
The Session serves as the local governing body of the church, providing leadership in specific areas of church ministry and administration.
Hope's Session meets on the second Sunday of each month in Stated Session meeting and may meet at other times, as required, in a Called Session meeting. The Pastor serves as Moderator of the Session at all meetings.
Each Session Member serves, in turn, for a month as Elder on Call, available to provide assistance or information. The name and contact information for the Elder on Call is listed on the web site's Prayer Chain.
